HSBC Road to Wimbledon 2017 Tournament

Seventeen young hopeful U14 players turned out for the HSBC Road to Wimbledon Challenge on Sunday 30th April. And great to see so many girls who managed to out-number the boys this time! Girl power!

Matches were played with great sportsmanship but also with fierce determination to win! This was definitely evident in the boys final which was a marathon match displaying plenty of grit and willpower by Robert Newman and Bruce Rooke. Great tennis boys! The final results were…

Winners: Bethany Dark (girls) and Robert Newman (boys).
Runners-up: Josie Ager (girls) and Bruce Rooke (boys).

Results: Girls, Boys

Well done to all competitors – your match results have been submitted to the LTA to help with your rating.
Good luck to Bethany and Robert who go through to the next round of this nationwide tournament; the Berkshire County Finals.

Quorn Family Day

Latika held the Quorn Family Tennis Red Ball event on Saturday 29th April with 15 doubles pairs taking part. All the children (and adults) had lots of fun matches and there were some extremely close results.

The final was an epic (and rather tense!) battle won by James Parnwell and his dad, Jason. Losing narrowly in the final were Oliver Wickens and dad, Paul. Congratulations to the finalists and to everybody taking part.

Special thanks to chef Q for dishing up some delicious butties from our BBQ! Scrummy!
